Freedom indeed

Thanks to my bro – Rob – who sent me this link

I’d also like to quote you this from  ” Adventures in missing the point” by Mclaren & Campolo…

“Think of the Bible as a book of Answers & Questions : What if the Bible is intended not merely to tell you what to think, but how to think – in the apostle Paul’s words to Timothy, to make you ” wise unto salvation”? In that case, the questions the Bible raises in your mind may be more important than the answers you find in it. Ever notice, when Jesus was asked a question, how often He answered with another question? What if God’s answers to us are often questions? And what if, by inspiring questions in us, the Bible actually reads us instead of us reading it? Remember what the book of Hebrews says, about the Bible penetrating deep within our hearts, readinf our soul & spirit.

Have a think about that. What questions come up consistently in your thoughts as you read the Word and what do you do with them? Do you record and review these questions?  I’m trying to now. I love the thought of being read by the Word of my maker.

Recently I had a conversation with a dear pastor friend of mine who challenged me to keep on seeking the Lord and get on with what I thought I had been prompted by the Spirit. This was an axehead moment for me [ See the account of Elisha and the young prophet ] and almost immediately I remembered one such prompt. So for the last few weeks and the next few too I’ve been spending part of Sunday mornings quietly sitting, reading and praying in the cafe at a local supermarket. It has been well worth it and I hope to post more details soon.

Last night was our weekly Jasciah meet. We felt a real sense of release as two of our group were prayerfully encouraged and set forward into their personal visions and we look forward to the fruit of that in the coming days. I am so blessed with Jasciah and relish the intimacy each feels with the Lord and with each other. We are looking forward to spreading out the tent pegs in a new way…not like Jabez but in the spiritual realms as we keep on looking to the Lord.

We’re looking for a new car too. We sold my Audi to a dear friend and are now looking for a 4×4. Our two faves are either a FreeLander or an X-Trail … both of which seem a little prophetic in their name … if you follow what I’m saying here!

Bye bye Bertha - thanx for all the miles 'n' smiles!
Bye bye Bertha – thanx for all the miles ‘n’ smiles!

I just want to finish this with a verse…

1Pe 2:9 – 10 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:  Which in time past were not a people, but are now THE people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Obviously the emphasis is mine, but I was really hit in the face with that about ten days ago.

We are now THE people of God.

Isn’t it wonderful – living in THE Light!

Bless you.
