A funny thing happened yesterday.
I spent about an hour writing a detailed post about the last four weeks and when I hit the publish button it all just disappeared!
So – prayerfully considering just how much of that post was not to be……
…..I did rather go on about how wonderful things had been etc etc etc – which on reflection might have been a tad or a soupcon of hype, but as a mildlymanicmaninthemoment I usually am pretty optimistic and upbeat. So it has been a good four weeks.
The only fly in the ointment was a big mistake I made in a relational response and I’ve got some serious bridge re-building to do. Me and my big mouth! Or rather me and my inappropriate email!! But I have every confidence in the Lord of Reconciliation.
I’d also recommended loads of books which had really blessed me. I’ll choose just one for now. It’s called “Blue like Jazz” by Donald Miller and is a series of reflections on christian spirituality. However, Miller is a very gritty, very honest, very real author who hides none of his own problems and issues ….or his love for the Lord which shines thro in every chapter. So instead of the usual teflon coated, academic exercises from the loftier echelons of the Faith which underscore how little I know about anything, Miller presents us with a series of situations with which many of us can identify and also shows us how the Lord works through the ordinary person in an extraordinary way.
Currently enjoying “Remedy” by the David Crowder Band. It’s almost like a bit of 80’s surreal-rock. Brings back a few memories I can tell you.
Well – that’s me. I’m off to get my hair cut.
Blessings abound to you!
