I haven’t been able to blog due to tiscali problems leaving me without access when I was ready to type. Hopefully that is fixed now but at the moment I’m still short of time.
Thanx to all those who’ve been quoting me, linking with me etc. I continue to check up on my favourites and some new bloggers daily. I’ll be adding a couple to my blogroll shortly.
Louise and I are continuing to enjoy the freedom conferred by sabbing and I’m now deep into two books. One remains the ‘Stones’ [ see previous posts for link ] but also Watchman Nee’s MOST excellent “The Normal Christian Church Life”. If you’re in leadership and you want to get a radical, biblical, refreshing look at church – this one’s great. I know some of you slicker guys who get through a new book every 12 hours will have read it, but for us slower types, it’s a discovery! In combination with Ulf Ekman’s * “Church of the Living God” which I read ages ago [ said he moving his head from side to side in that pompous and superior way that just shows you that I'm ahead of the game!] there’s much food for thought.
So – what have I been doing so much of during the past ten days and beyond?
Travelling to and from Aberdeen to see the Kids,
visit with them at their churches,
helped decorate [ badly & over a short time period ] a flat,
played with dogs and lizards [ these being the pets of Mim & John, Fran & Peter respectively ],
plus lots of gardening, a bit of decorating [ as we de-shrine the house by doing up the girl's bedrooms ] and
walking and chatting,
attending the campus study period for my Independent Pharmacist Prescriber conversion course,
plus visiting the church of a good friend of mine. And it’s really interesting that [ for me] since I’m seeking so much at this time – despite what you might think having read this far – that whenever I’m with fellowships, my prophetic senses are almost hard wired and I’m filled with so many impressions and words and images. Wonderful!
….and loads more. Almost every event above I have wanted to post about, but – you know how it gets!
PtchaH!
The Sandman’s just come and told me I’ve got to go to bed.
*It is not true that Ulf and I were separated at birth, we both just seem to share the same features except I got the ptosis of the right eye!
